ABC Affiliate Network (ANET)
ABC ANET is a portal for ABC to deliver programming assets to 240+ affiliate network stations around the US. The portal ensures ABC can maintain consistent national broadcasting while allowing stations to air regional content such as local news and advertisements.
Affiliate station managers go to ANET to download assets such as thumbnails, closed captioning files, and sponsorship videos for ABC’s programming like Good Morning America and The Bachelor.
Problem
The current website suffers from poor usability, making it difficult for users to navigate, find information, and complete key tasks. As a result, users were more likely to abandon the site or not use proper ABC assets, leading to inconsistent national broadcasting and a negative perception of the brand.

Solution
I led redesign efforts for several key areas of the site including the Homepage, Marketing, and Schedule to improve information hierarchy and navigation.
Identifying Opportunities
The team identified pain points in the existing site and found several areas of the site that were frankly outdated and hadn’t been updated to meet basic usability standards.
Brand Consistency
This redesign also presented an opportunity to pull ABC ANET to be more in-line with consumer-facing platforms and marketing such as ABC.com. An improved user experience that is consistent with the ABC brand builds trust with users and sets the expectation for the same consistency on their own networks.
ABC.com
Home Page Redesign
With the ABC brand in mind, we designed ABC ANET in dark mode and used the red brand color as a highlight on key components. While the existing site also used the red brand color, it was often used for text or CTA’s that a user could mistake as an error state.
We found that many users go to ANET with shows already in mind, so we emphasized a search experience to help users reach relevant content more quickly. Unlike the previous experience, we chose not to highlight any specific show as it would often become outdated and require an admin to frequently maintain it.
Show Pages
The show page offers a streamlined layout that gives affiliates quick access to key artwork, metadata, and downloadable assets. Files are clearly labeled and organized by type—logos, promos, social graphics—making it easy to find and download what’s needed.
Unlike the existing platform which placed episodic files across multiple tabs, we grouped files by episode which users could bulk select and download.
Design System
This project was also one of the first major projects in the Enterprise Design Language that was built in dark mode. While the design system had some existing guidelines, I adapted several UI components for dark mode, ensuring visual consistency, accessibility, and a seamless user experience across themes.
Impact
With these changes implemented, the product showed improvements in several areas including:
Improved Adoption of Assets across affiliates due to clearer organization and labeling of downloadable content.
Enhanced Brand Consistency by aligning ABC ANET with ABC.com’s visual language, improving user trust and perceived quality.
Boosted Usability Ratings and accessibility compliance to decrease time on task.
